<IMG src="Book/fancy_font/f_59x61.dds" width=59 height=61>ather Talos, protect us all! My name is Savlian, I was Captain of the Guard at Kvatch during the Attack and I'd like to tell you all about the New Kvatch.<br>

After the fall of Kvatch a great hero appeared and entered the Oblivion Gate. Closing the door that the evil had used to destroy my beautiful city. Since then the surviving citizens have started the process of rebuilding the town and restoring it to its former glory.
<br>
<br>
The Kvatch we see to day still bares many of the scars caused by the Daedra when they attack the city. The city walls will take a long time to be repaired and the castle is in about the same state of repair on the outside. Inside the citizens have totally rebuilt the Great Hall, the huge dinning room and many of the other castle rooms in the hope that one day a new count may be appointed.<br>
<br>
Outside the Castle, the Nobles, Merchants and Guilds were amongst the first to rebuild their homes and offices. Walking down the high street you would be hard pressed to see any visible signs of the destruction that hit the city unless you looked at the city walls directly.<br>
<br>
The area at the back of church was demolished and all the land around it cleared to make room for new homes for those who lost theirs. A shanty town has sprung up in the area with its own Inn and square. Whilst this is tempory, its existance allows the survivors to live comfortably inside the city walls whilst the rebuilding continues.<br>
<br>
The burnt out remains of many buildings were moved to the back of city and covered over with dirt. Trees and plants were planted and a statue errected over the land fill area. This is now the Memorial Gardens. Below the dirt is the old Kvatch, every brick and tile that could not be used again was burried there. Including the old Spire from the church and the hastily errected defences the citizens built during the attack. The land fill area has blocked off the tunnel the Hero of Kvatch used to save the city but it remains in tact below all the rubble. <br>
<br>
Following the path through the Memorial gardens takes you to the new cemetery, which is already full. Here lay the dead, those who where slain during the attack. Heros, Villians, Woman, Child all lay side by side. The peaceful walk through the Garden reminds us of what we lost and allows the citizens to enjoy the peace whilst they pay their respects to the dead. <br>
<br>
Dominating the Graveyard is the statue of the Hero of Kvatch build on the spot where the mighty battle with the daedra took place just in front of the old tunnel system which was used to break in to the castle and end the siege. It is said by some that you can hear the screams of the slain daedra at this location as Akatosh slays them over and over again as punishment for their crimes against Kvatch. <br>
<br>
The Statue looks out over the town, protecting those who live within the walls of Kvatch for ever more. It has become a place of pilgrimage for many who wish to thank Akatosh for their deliverance. Some have said dead family members have appeared to them at this location to comfort them and tell them their prayers have been heard.
