I could possibly jump down to the stairway below the door, but what if I must come back this way? Without some aid from the gods I do not think I could get past the door on the way up. It would be best to have the key in hand.

What lies beyond this gate, to be preceded by such a splendor, I can hardly imagine. The beings who created this wonder, and the staircase above, must be almost unimaginably powerful.
