One of the younger orderlies suggested using some cheap ale to quieten our wards instead of the full-size anaesthetiser downstairs. Doc approves, but that's probably because it's a good excuse to have a few bottles of ale stocked amongst the crates upstairs. Someone needs to tell that man it's not a good idea to perform a full knee-level leg re-attachment after three bottles, whatever his views are to the contrary. Need I remind everyone that Old Man Ginter is still showing up every other week and asking us to swap out that leg with a proper arm. In any case, I still prefer the anaesthetiser, it seems to work quicker and the effects last longer.
