Sister Parsona,

May Akatosh guide you and may the blessings of the Saint be upon you.

It was with a heavy heart and some frustration that I read your recent letter.

Understand that I did not choose Kilvannen as my successor lightly. The role of the Mother Superior is both difficult and complex. I spent a great deal of time in prayer and reflection.

Your characterization of Kilvannen is in fact far from the mark. Kilvannen and I have had several heated discussions concerning my decisions. She has absolutely disagreed with me on a number of occasions. However, she has done this in private. It is essential that a leadership sticks together in public. It is a discipline you have not learned.

Kilvannen may have joined the order after you but since when did long service indicate ability.

You stated that you would find it hard to follow Kilvannen and in all conscience could not bring yourself to encourage others to do so. The role of a leader is to do the unpleasant as well as the pleasant. That very statement indicates how far you need to travel to be ready to assume command.

Kilvannen is an outstanding leader, and while I hope you can reflect and see this, it may well be that the time is right for you to return to the world.

Respectfully Yours

Reverend Mother Agnetta.
