優れた銀食器の製作におけるもっとも重要な要素は、適切な火のもと作業を行うことである。異なる強さの火を断続的に浴びせるようなことをすると、繊細な銀食器の表面の光沢が失われる。そしてそれは、望まぬ色ムラや、早期の酸化につながる。<br>

銀に対して与えるダメージの度合いが、もっとも低い炎は青色の炎である。それゆえ、全ての作業は、常に青色の炎のもとで行われるべきだ。<br>

銀食器の製作において、望ましい工具はCraft Hammer No.3である。エッチングにおいて滑らかな表面を造り出すことができる。それは最近では時代遅れになったCraft Hammer No.2とは対照的だ。<br>

上質な食器を作るための唯一の方法は、上質な素材を用いることである。よって、銀食器の製作において、上質な銀を用いるべきだ。低品質の銀を用いると、輝きやツヤが失われかねない。
