STRANGE MUSHROOM APPEARS NEAR BRUMA!

Without warning, a giant mushroom has appeared on the Orange Road. Travellers reported a big bolete that didn't stop growing. Legion patrols were unsure, only watched while the mushroom grew in size. Meanwhile two black clad Dunmer women appeared.

And one of them claimed to be the landowner. An unnamed witness claimed that he heard her murmuring "better than an Oth gate". As the Black Horse Courier arrived at the site of the strange vegetable occurence, the Dunmer refused to explain what an "Oth gate" is. She looked quite shocked.

The dunmer revealed herself to be "Zerreshju", a representative of a new guild in Cyrodiil. The guild, the so-called "Stranded Light", is mostly known for the creation of a Guild Guide, in cooperation with the Mages Guild. As a spokesman of the Mages Guild reassured us, the Council of Mages has no knowledge about what's happening near Bruma.

Yet Zerreshju took the time to answer our questions. According to her they're building - no, growing - an outpost for their guild there. Currently their only seat is an Ayleid ruin deep in Blackwood, a good bit away from civilization. The mushroom keeps growing - it's already bigger than any shack at the Imperial City Waterfront.

Fortunately, despite it's quite strange appearance, buildings made out of mushrooms are not unknown. Entire cities are made out of them, in the eastern parts of Vvardenfell. Nevertheless who would have thought to see one of these constructs in Cyrodiil? Zerreshju only said that we "shouldn't fear" it, because the mushrooms are controlled by magic. Without magic they "keep as tiny as a Bosmer".

Nevertheless we have to ask ourselves: Do we really want to take the risk to someday wake up with a giant mushroom sprouting out in our garden? According to the Office of Imperial Commerce there's no legal action possible against growing mushrooms on your own ground, therefore we have to live with the giant mushroom soon towering over the Orange Road. What purpose it serves though remains yet to be seen.
