Having forgot why I dragged this thing all the way here in the first place, I guess these is as good a time as any to start writing something.

Three days ago we resupplied at Bruma, but during this particularly cold frost they could not offer us a sufficient supply of anything.. except women. More on that later. Three days march through the snow and we are no closer to finding the gray fox than when we started. What makes this lead any different than the hundreds more that come in each and every week from the rabble, and the poor.. and the Argonions! ...vile lizards. Everybody just wants a piece of that bounty. It's that damn Captain we got. He'd have us chasing shadows if he thought he might benefit. ...

Well, I promised me that I would get back to the women, so alright. The Bruma captain make some off-color joke about not having much there, but all you need is love. I mean, what kind of stupid thing to say is that? Anyways, he referred us to a place, to which a couple of my buddies went. I followed them there and, wow, those Nord women sure know how to make a guy feel at home. Needless to say, I had no money, but before getting kicked out, I met a black-eyed Nord women. Deep-black, like where if you keep looking, you start to think you might find something in there other than an eye. I met her later that night, and the night after, but the next day, we pulled out of Bruma to go up north. And that was three days ago. I have her picture with me.. somewhere, but I'll be back.

We came across the ruins of an old fortress today.. This is nothing like I've ever seen.. but I should start at the beginning. As we approached the Jerall mountains, we split up into small groups for "logistical" purposes. In my group there is Alwin and Lobos who are the engineers. Hector is the real swordsman of the group, Vernan is our seargent- but his background is mainly in alchemy. And I am the scout. I specialize in small blades and moving fast,.. especially when something nasty's behind me. We pulled out a little earlier than the others, because this restless atmosphere can be dangerous. We packed for 7 days, but after only two, we spotted the bottom of a tremendous column. As the clouds had lifted over the past several weeks, we were finally able to make out the bottom of the mountain bridge, and now, after investigation, we could almost make out the top. Vern decided to continue on, instead of reporting back. We would be fortunate he did.

We found the base of the entrance easily after getting through that forest. We couldn't quite scale it at first, but Hector, of all people, was able to climb up the cliff and attach a rope. The entrance was locked, but a sign was there with some old Ayleid written on it. Vern seemed to be able to make some of it out, though afterwards his expression changed dramatically. The only thing he told us was that this was some important structure in the past. From this cliff, we can see our whole army marching towards us through the forest. They are moving quickly, and will be here my sundown.

What a day. We learned that three other units saw this structure and reported back, while another two had scouted around its base. No other "ground" level entrances were found. The Captain's first task was to burn down the old Ayleid sign. After this, I was really curious to what it said, what Vern said he couldn't understand any more of it, because the old Ayleid writing was really much different than the writing in his alchemical books. The Captain announced that we would start to enter this castle to look for the Grey Fox. This is utter nonsense I think. Other people were saying that a large enemy force was appoaching from the north, and if we found a way through this mountain, we could be in a position to ambush it. No one knew what enemy it might be though.

our team was picked to go in, along with two others (I think because we have two engineers). Hearson's group would go ahead of us, and Joborith would tail us.Everything was as expected as we walked through the dark earthen tunnels.. but then we saw it. The inside of a whole mountain, carved straight out of the stone! Two large beams crossed each other here. What a sight! The words simply cannot descibe the feeling of smallness. There was no sign of anybody or anything. The only sound was the quite humming of these beams. This place is amazing! From here the groups had to split up. We spent what seemed like hours to carefully move around the room. It was Alwin who first realized that there were other passages that were below these main ones, and that they might lead somewhere. We stopped for a bit to think about the situation. Vern saw an area above one of the walkways, but there was a screen over it. After getting there and examining this area, Lobos found a damaged area that he might be able to enlarge enough for us to get through. He and Hector and Alwin worked on it I think all afternoon to get the screen off of one of the "windows". When they finally got it off, Alwin somehow skip down the crack and hit one of the stones sticking out. He was able to hold on to this and not fall further, but I think he broke his leg. there is no way to know if we could make our way back up to the ledge, so we did not go down yet. There seems to be another passage leading even further into this castle on the walkway below, so this is what Vern decided to write up in his report for the Captain.

after returning back, Vern said the Captain looked more urgent than ever. The Captain had us pack for the next couple of days- we were to go much deeper and map out the structure. He took out Alwin who was having trouble walking now, and replaced him with another engineer and a trap specialist from another unit. This place has no immediate danger, but it is cold here. Not cold like the open mountains, but very still. Even our fires here seemed to yeild to the silence. I am still excited for this oppurtunity however.

だが今回の作戦はいつもの野次馬や乞食やArgonian(あの汚らわしいトカゲ達め!)
