THE BLACKWOOD COMPANY CHARTER

I. PURPOSE

The Blackwood Company exists to serve the mercenary needs of the citizens of Black Marsh, the Elseweyr Confederacy and Cyrodiil, and to maintain the proud traditions of the Thoghatt, the ?Charcoal Warriors? of the Khajiit.

II. AUTHORITY

The Blackwood Company was established under the authority of the Mane of the Elseweyr Confederacy and endorsed in Cyrodiil by Emperor Uriel Septim VII.

III. RULES AND PROCEDURES

A. The Blackwood Company does not accept any contracts that would require Company members to violate the laws of the Empire.

B. Barring that restriction, the Blackwood Company prides itself on accepting and completing any contract it receives. Failure by a member to follow a contract through to completion is grounds for termination at the discretion of Company superiors.

C. The Blackwood Company requires all members to complete contracts in the most efficient and beneficial manner possible. Pointless injuries to members or citizens are of no benefit to the Company or the Empire.

D. The Blackwood Company has no restrictions on its members belonging to other Guilds so long as that Guild does not compete directly with the Company. The Blackwood Company does require that all members commend their primary loyalty to the Company. Any action by a member that harms the Company or its reputation, whether committed in service to the Company or on personal time is grounds for termination at the discretion of Company superiors.

IV. MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS

The Blackwood Company accepts all applicants of suitable skill and conscience.

V. APPLICATIONS FOR MEMBERSHIP

Applicants should present themselves at the nearest Blackwood Company Hall. Suitability for acceptance will be entirely at the discretion of the Captain of Warriors.

VI. ADVANCEMENT IN RANK

The Blackwood Company does not maintain a rigid structure for advancement. The skills of our members are tested through the completion of the contracts they are given. Formalized testing of arbitrary skill levels is not necessary.

As such, advancement is entirely at the discretion of Company superiors. Members will be offered advancement in rank when their superiors determine that such advancement is warranted.

Command level ranks will not be available unless a position becomes vacant.
