TRAGIC MAGES GUILD ACCIDENT!<br>
No guild members escaped alive!<br>

<DIV align="left"><IMG src="Book/fancy_font/t_52x61.dds" width=52 height=61>he Mages Guild hall in the city of Bruma, located in northern Cyrodiil, has been the victim of an unfortunate magical accident that left no visible exterior markings, but completely destroyed the interior. The entire hall, witnesses claim, spontaneously went up in flames from the inside out, leaving no survivors:

<br> "I was out picking Cloud Funnel Caps," local Nord Honmund explained, "when all of a sudden I smell smoke coming from the guild area. There was a big black cloud of smoke coming out of the Mages Guild windows, but I didn't see any fire."<br>
<br>
Honmund is a long-time resident of Bruma and, friends at Olaf's Tap and Tack assure us, a very trustworthy person.<br>
<br>
While the specific cause of the incident is unknown, the city guard has several leads that they are working on:<br>
<br> "There's lots of different ways something like this could happen," claims Captain of the Guard, Burd. "The guild was full of tricksters. It could have been a prank gone wrong, or maybe a misfired spell. Everyone in the city knows that the head of the guild, Jeanne Frasoric, was an idiot. The wench could barely cast a Scamp spell."

However, Burd made careful note to tell us that they are still taking time to investigate foul play:

<br>"Anything's possible these days, what with the Emperor dead and all. I've got guards searching the area for illegal fire spell scrolls as we speak."<br>

The Mages Guild refused to issue comments, except for their condolences for the families of those who perished in the incident. The guild's own investigation will continue to determine the exact nature of this sad turn of events.<br>

<DIV align="center">A History of Disaster<br>

<DIV align="left">What occurred in Bruma is far from being the only accident recorded in the history of the Mages Guild. The guild hall of Sentinel in the province of Hammerfell has been subject to a rather strange incident. One of the high-ranked members managed to summon the Daedric Prince Sanguine. Angered by the behavior of the guild member, Sanguine cast a spell that changed the sex of every member present in the hall at that time. Needless to say, the city became a temporary haven for questionable and unmentionable acts the very next day.<br>
