Part Two, A merciless encounter, 12th of Sun's Dusk

At dawn, they set forth to the camp. Cornelius had devised a plan necessary to perhaps not shed any blood. It was up to Vincente, who's charisma outmatched the others. Vincente volunteered as the diplomat, not needing to be asked. He would ask the nords that they were peaceful, and ask their reasonings. Meanwhile, the others, especially Na-Wur, who'd be right by the entrance of the nord's main camping tent, would set up a perimeter. They would all be set up with arrows nocked, fully ready to fire.

The camp, three tents, one large, two open and unpretentious. Two tall figures were standing, talking to one another, seriously and disciplined. Another, sleeping, and one more, practicing archery. Who knew how many lay within the tent. Vincent walked forward, arms crossed, and then held up one hand, and waved that he came in peace. The others had taken position in the appropriate spots, and waited for anything out of the ordinary. The nord chieftan, as identified by his helmet, stepped from the bedroll he was sleeping from, and stared directly into the eyes of Vincente. The chieftan whispered something incomprehensible to the ear of Vincente, and then in an instant, an arrow flew into his chest, knocking the healer to the ground. The perimeter broke quickly, Na-Wur, who managed to shoot the chieftan in the leg, saw in horror as he did not even wince in pain, charging forward at the Argonian, and before he managed to pull out his dagger, he was slammed on the ground with a warhammer.

Varus and Cornelius had managed to bring one down with arrows, but at this time, Cornelius ordered Varus to try and get to healing Vincente and Na-Wur, and that he would hold them off. Two of the nords coordinately came upon him, one wielding a bow, the other an axe. Cornelius pulled out his shield arm, already tired from the frenzy of all of this, and bashed back the hammer wielding foe with his shield. He saw a bolt of lightning come charging directly into this one's eyes, courtesy of Varus, who managed to help while healing.

From here,Sintav saw the chieftan, and the bowman approaching sharply, the Chieftan's eyes bloodred, he slammed into Cornelius's shield, but barely staggered. An arrow just slightly missed him, grazing the side of his helmet. However, Varus had once again joined the fray, firing a light spell for distraction, and drawing the bowman away from the ex-legionaire. It was the nord chieftan, and Cornelius, who unleashed a flurry of jabs and counters with his longsword. The old man was still quicker than the slow warhammer, and it showed, he cut the nord by the knees, and the chieftan than fell to the ground, panting, yet laughing at the same time.

"Who are you? Why do you attack us without reason!?," exclaimed Cornelius, staggered at the thought of such a vile human being. The crippled nord simply laughed, and then, vanished into dust, before Cornelius angrily slit his throat. It was then that he saw Varus had finished off the other threat, but Varus was stunned at something different.

Vincente had been branded across the chest in blood. To the right of the mark that pierced him were the words, Jagar Tharn. All knew about Jagar Tharn, the battlemage who used illusion magic to look like the empire, while imprisoning the emperor himself. Were these nords followers of Jagar Tharn? Cornelius and Varus searched through the tent, but nothing more was to be found. However, the situation had gotten much more serious. Na-Wur, luckily had awoken, injured, but free to move on his own. However, Vincente had still not woken up, and had to be carried, which would stunt their progress on their journey back. It was suggested by Varus to go to the Arcane University, where they would be healed, and also, may find out more on Jagar Tharn, the wild was much too dangerous.
